Terms of use
Updated 1 October 2026
1. Provider and scope
ReadFirst is provided by TrueDigital, LLC, 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Contact: [email protected]. These terms describe the ReadFirst service and supplement the applicable Apple App Store terms. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
2. What ReadFirst does
ReadFirst is a personal reading-habit tool. It connects verified reading of printed books to time in apps you choose to restrict. You can configure reading goals and unlock rules. It is not a medical treatment, guaranteed productivity outcome, parental-control guarantee or security system. Page recognition and Screen Time depend on device capabilities, permissions and Apple’s operating system and may occasionally be unavailable or inaccurate.
3. Access and responsible use
You need a compatible Apple device and the required permissions. You are responsible for choosing apps to restrict and keeping essential services accessible. Do not rely on ReadFirst to prevent every possible access to an app. You may revoke permissions or remove the app through your device’s controls. Use it lawfully and respect others’ copyright and rights.
4. Plans, trials and billing
Paid features require an eligible plan purchased through Apple. The available products, price, currency, billing interval, trial eligibility and any renewal terms are displayed before purchase. We do not promise that every user or plan receives a trial.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled under Apple’s displayed terms. Where a trial is offered, a paid subscription starts after it unless cancelled in time. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting ReadFirst does not cancel a subscription. A one-time purchase, where offered, does not renew automatically. Requests for Apple-billed refunds are handled through Apple’s refund service, without limiting any statutory rights against the applicable seller.
If paid access ends, app blocking is removed; existing bookshelf and progress information remain readable in accordance with the app’s functionality.
5. Licence and third-party services
The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app licence unless a valid custom licence is presented in the App Store. Third-party book catalogues, iCloud and Apple purchases have their own terms. We do not own the books or book covers found through those services.
6. Availability, updates and data
We may provide updates to maintain, secure or improve ReadFirst, subject to applicable law. Keep your operating system and app up to date and maintain suitable backups of data important to you. Reading statistics and recognition are intended to support a habit; they are not a guarantee of reading comprehension or a promise of a particular result.
7. Consumer protection and liability
Nothing here excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory digital-product conformity rights and liability for intentional misconduct or other non-excludable harm. Any applicable mandatory protections in your country of habitual residence continue to apply. No exclusive US court requirement is imposed by these terms.
8. Ending use and changes
You may stop using ReadFirst at any time. Cancel subscriptions separately through Apple. We will communicate material contractual changes where legally required; this page alone does not establish acceptance of a change to an existing paid contract.
